HIV=AIDS question?

I am student and have to prepare a paper about this, the reason why I asked my last question (Is HIV=AIDS a hoax) is because I interviewed these two guys who have been HIV positive for more than 20 years. One has been diagnosed with AIDS despite the fact that he's been taking all the drugs and doing eveything he could to keep the virus's progression according to today's practices. He had the worst case of shingles his doctor had ever seen and has recently been diagnose with Karposi's sarcoma. The other has never has anything major problem with his HIV condition in more than 20 years. He's positive but doesn't have AIDS. He told me: "It's because I never took these drugs." Anyone knows of more stories like that? Is tehre any common sense about this whole HIV=AIDS thing? Please Serious answers only!
