Should I encourage my husband to go to his daughter's "wedding"?

It is simply at the courthouse. Her mother put him through hell for 12 years after they were divorced so he really doesn't want to see her and he completely disagrees with the wedding anyway. I don't want to go so I'm fine with it (but I will go if he does, even though she didn't invite me). On the other hand, I don't want her to feel neglected by him not attending. Such a silly dilemma, I know....
