I am not a techie. How easy is it to upgrade from Windows 7 from Windows Vista?

I'm at my wits end with Vista. For a few weeks now, my computer has been crashing constantly. A computer clean up has not seemed to help at all. I am getting error messages of my Bluetooth tray not working, and my McAfee is constantly giving me messages now that I'm not protected. This all has been happening within the last few weeks. I just got a message of one of my video drivers not working, but it corrected itself. I've consulted Microsoft.com to try a few of the fixes myself, but the downloads seem to freeze midway through. Will an upgrade to Windows 7 help? (I've already uninstalled many programs that I have never used). Any other advice is appreciated.
